The best massage in Córdoba: an honest guide from the Jewish Quarter

Where, how and how much a good massage costs in the city. What nobody tells you before you book.

A massage in a hammam is not a normal massage

The fundamental difference is the context. A conventional massage starts cold: you arrive from the street, you lie on the table and the therapist has to spend the first 15 minutes warming up your muscles. In a hammam, you have already spent an hour in hot water, steam and temperature contrasts. Your muscles are loose, your skin open, your breathing slow. The massage starts where others finish.

That is why a 30-minute massage after a bath session can be more effective than a 60-minute one in a conventional spa. It is not marketing: it is physiology.

What options there are in Córdoba

Córdoba has hotel spas, beauty centres, and Arab baths. Each offers something different:

Hotel spas are convenient if you are already staying there, but the massage tends to be one more service in a generic catalogue. The atmosphere is that of a hotel, not a hammam.

Beauty centres offer massages at a good price but without the context of water and steam. It is a table in a room. Functional, but not an experience.

Arab baths combine the water, the steam and the massage in a single two-hour session. The body is already prepared when it begins.

Our massages in the Jewish Quarter

At the Arab Baths of Córdoba we have three types of massage, all included within the 2-hour session:

Relaxing massage (15, 30 or 60 min): essential oils. Medium-soft pressure. The 30-minute one is the most requested — full body for €50.

Hot stones (30 or 60 min): volcanic basalt at 55 °C. Releases contractures. Ideal if you arrive with accumulated tension. From €53.

Exfoliation (30 or 60 min): kessa glove and Moroccan black soap. Leaves the skin completely new. The 60-minute version includes a massage with argan oil. From €58.

How much does it cost?

A massage at the Arab baths always includes the full 2 hours of pools, steam, flotation, towels, locker and tea. You do not pay extra for the bath — it is included.

The range goes from €40 (15-minute relaxing) to €72 (full 60-minute exfoliation). The most requested is the 30-minute relaxing massage at €50. The best value for money is the 60-minute relaxing massage at €68.

Which one to choose if it is your first time?

The 30-minute relaxing massage at €50. Full body, medium-soft pressure, and only +€18 over the basic bath. It is the most balanced option and the one couples ask for most.

If you have serious muscle tension (neck, lower back), the 30-minute hot stones at €53 are the best option. The deep heat of the basalt releases knots the hand cannot reach.

If you are after a complete skin ritual, the 60-minute exfoliation at €72 with argan oil is the most premium plan.

When to book

You can book on the same day if there is availability, but weekends and the spring and autumn months fill up fast. We recommend booking at least 2-3 days ahead.

Booking is done online or by phone (957 295 855). You choose bath + type of massage + time. The therapist lets you know when it is your turn — you enjoy the pools in the meantime.
