When a relaxing massage makes sense
Not always. If you are having a normal day and just want to enjoy the water, the pools and the steam do their work on their own. But there are days when the body brings something extra: the neck contracture you have been dragging around for weeks, the loaded back after a long journey, the accumulated tension of a week that gave no respite.
In our Arab baths, the massage comes after going through the hot, warm and cold pools, after passing through the steam. By the time you reach the table, your muscles have already released the most superficial layer of tension. The therapist works on a prepared body. In 30 minutes you achieve what a conventional massage would need twice the time for.
Which duration to choose
15 minutes (€40) if what you need is focused: back and neck. The choice of many visitors after a day exploring Córdoba.
30 minutes (€50) if you want more complete work: back, neck, shoulders and legs. The most booked option and the one we recommend if it is your first time.
60 minutes (€68) if you have come to truly switch off: the whole body, without hurry. For those who have come to Córdoba to stop, not just to see.
What you will notice afterwards
The first thing is your back. Where there used to be a band of constant tension, now there is space. Your shoulders drop by themselves. Your head moves with a range you did not have when you arrived.
The second thing is sleep. The night after a good massage you sleep more deeply. The body has dropped the guard it was keeping up without you noticing.
The third: the way you walk. You leave the hammam and step onto the stones of the Jewish Quarter with a different rhythm. It is not euphoria. It is calm. And it lasts longer than you expect.
How to make the most of it
Drink water before you come. Go through the pools at least half an hour before the massage. Do not plan anything intense afterwards. And if you can, return to the flotation pool right after — many guests tell us that is the moment they remember from the whole visit.
