Puerta de Almodóvar: the starting point
The Arab walls welcome you and the street narrows immediately. The first street on the right is Almanzor, where we are at number 18. If you want to save the baths for the afternoon, keep going straight.
The Synagogue (2 minutes)
On Calle Judíos. One of only three medieval synagogues preserved in Spain. Small, but the Mudéjar plasterwork inside is worth the stop. Free entry for EU citizens.
Calleja de las Flores (3 minutes)
The most photographed street in Córdoba. Narrow, full of pots of geraniums, with the tower of the Mosque framed at the end. Come early if you want the photo without people.
The Arab Baths of Córdoba (2 minutes)
Back on Calle Almanzor. If you have already walked enough, this is the perfect moment to come in: your feet rest in hot water, your muscles loosen in the steam and the cultural visit is completed by an experience you feel in your body.
The Mosque-Cathedral (3 minutes)
The final destination. The forest of columns, the red and white double arches, the chapel at the centre of the mosque. If you arrive after the hammam, you will walk in with a different gaze — slower, more receptive.
How much time you need
The walking route, without stops, takes 20 minutes. With visits to the Synagogue and the Mosque, about 3 hours. If you add the Arab baths, set aside 5 hours to enjoy it without rushing. Better early in the morning or from five in the afternoon onwards.
